Published and related materials pertaining to a wide variety of conservation issues and proposed projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. Includes Klinger's independent projects and projects as part of Contra Costa Park Council. Materials include publications from local and national environmental groups, newsletters, letters, California governmental committee hearings, proposed town and county plans, lawsuits, federal, state and local government hearing reports, and related newspaper clippings. The materials deal chiefly with environmental issues such as natural resources planning, water resources management, deep port dredging, nuclear power plants, chemical plants, air pollution, traffic, transit and mass transportation, solid waste, open spaces, parks, billboards, wildlife, prisons, and off road use in wilderness areas. Specific projects identified include the Baldwin Channel Project, a proposed Pacific Gas & Electric nuclear plant on Bodega Bay in Pt. Reyes, Calif., the Peripheral Canal, a Dow Chemical plant, a proposed new prison facility in Contra Costa County, and numerous projects affecting the San Francisco Bay.
